Why We Built It

Most invoicing tools force you to create an account, choose a plan, and hand over your data before you can do something as basic as generating a PDF. For independent workers and small teams - who make up a huge part of the modern economy - that friction is unnecessary and often off-putting.

We set out to answer a simple question: What is the fastest, most private way to create a professional invoice? The answer was a lightweight tool that runs entirely in your browser, requires zero registration, and gives you a polished PDF in seconds.

The invoicing guides and educational articles we publish alongside the tool exist for the same reason: to give freelancers and small business owners straight answers to billing questions they encounter every day, without having to wade through paywalled content or vendor-biased advice.

How It Works

My Invoice Generator runs entirely inside your web browser. Here is what that means in practice:

  • All data stays local. When you fill in your company name, client details, or line items, that information is stored in your browser's local storage - not on any server we control. We have no access to your invoice data.
  • PDF generation happens in-browser. When you click Download PDF, the document is created client-side using open-source libraries (html2canvas and jsPDF). Nothing is sent to a server.
  • Auto-save uses localStorage. Your invoice is automatically saved in your browser so it is there next time you visit. You can also save manually. Clear your browser data and the local save is also cleared.
  • No account needed. Because nothing is stored remotely, there is nothing to log in to. Open the page, create your invoice, download it.

What we do collect: Like most websites, we use standard analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. We do not collect or store the contents of your invoices. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Your Privacy

Privacy is central to how we designed this tool. Your invoice data - client names, business addresses, financial figures - is sensitive. We made a deliberate choice to keep it out of our hands entirely:

  • We do not store your invoice data on any server.
  • We do not share your data with third parties.
  • We do not require you to provide an email address or any personal information.
  • Your invoice history is stored only in your browser's local storage.
